Meet Dr. Ravi Kumar Ponnappan, MD
Jersey Spine Associates is a unique, southern New Jersey based spine practice serving patients from the tri-state area to the Jersey Shore that focuses specifically on spine-related conditions. JSA providers utilize a personalized, patient-centered approach to spinal conditions that emphasizes accurate diagnosis, education, and customized comprehensive treatment plans. We use evidence-based clinical decisions to provide patients the best chances for a speedy recovery. The practice offers comprehensive evaluations, nonsurgical management, and surgical procedures for spine-related conditions. Additional services include workers’ compensation and automobile injury evaluations, second opinions, and independent medical evaluations.
Jersey Spine Associates was founded by Ravi K. Ponnappan, MD, an American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery certified orthopaedic spine surgeon, who has completed an advanced fellowship in complex reconstructive techniques, as well as minimally invasive approaches to spinal conditions. He is an academic orthopaedic spine surgeon who has been a part of the teaching faculty at numerous prestigious institutions including Rush University Medical College, University of Pittsburgh, and Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Ponnappan has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on spinal disorders, diagnosis, and treatment. He currently has appointments as an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Spine Surgery at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. He also serves as the Medical Director of Spine Surgery at Cherry Hill ASC. Dr. Ponnappan is a proud member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, North American Spine Society, and Cervical Spine Research Society. Hospital affiliations include Cooper Hospital, Pennsylvania Hospital- Penn Medicine, Virtua Medical Center, and New York Presbyterian-Lower Manhattan.
